West Asheville Presbyterian Church

It's been a year since the passing our of beloved Pastor Kent.  His portrait was dedicated at the church on June 9, 2019.

Rev. Kent Smith was a blessing sent from God to us here at West Asheville Presbyterian Church and we still mourn his passing in 2018. However, he brought us many joys and blessings during his time here at WAPC and we are appreciative and grateful for what he did for us as a congregation.  He was an advocate for the homeless in West Asheville and a benefactor to the two gentlemen who call West Asheville Presbyterian home.  Kent was a guiding light in showing others the love of Christ.  He truly lived what he believed and believed what he lived.  Food scarcity was in issue Kent felt deeply about and he worked tirelessly in that respect.

Rev. Kent loved music and a great influence in start the Community on Haywood, a contemporary and modern approach to worship at WAPC.  We at WAPC carry on the COH program, incorporating Kent's ideas and strive to do as Kent did and walk the walk as he did in Christ's steps.
